Analysis of geophysical explorative data sets
Explorative seismic data arrays, the so-called seismic section and cubes,
consist of synchronous records of reflected seismic signals registered
by a large number of geophones on the earth surface. The processing
of seismic data is aimed at building a geological model of the underground
rock mass, usually, in the course of gas and oil prospecting.
Vertical seismic section through a granite basement and the sought-for
fracturedness map of the crystalline rock mass.
Fragment of a cube of reflected seismic signals registered by goephones
located at the nodes of a rectangular lattice on the earth surface.
